RecipeML -- yuck!
One of my hobbies is cooking, and very often I just go freestyle in the kitchen. Often, I forget to write down what I put in to a dish...and its lost forever.
I'm a techie by trade, and have this desire to build little software systems to support my hobbies, so this morning I started wondering about creating a simple markup language for recipes. Google was my first stop, and it found RecipeML™ for me.
Implementing Scrum is hard.
We're trying to implement Scrum at work. Actually...we're implementing Scrum of Scrums, which is 10 times harder than simply implementing Scrum for a single team. I have experience implementing Scrum and XP, and recently got my ScrumMaster certification (plug: Mishkin Berteig is an awesome trainer, highly recommended) so that I would at least have a fresh and clear understanding of the scrum process, and how I could help to grease the wheels at work.
I'm finally digging twitter.
For the longest time I thought Twitter was dead stupid. My first impression was "Why the hell do I care that Steve Smith (fictional name) just rented a video game at blockbuster?". I think before Twitter really exploded, the content on there was typically dumb because people didn't really know what to say. Twitter's power, IMHO, can be summed up in two main points:
- Connectivity. It works on your cell phone, IM and the web. Heck, there is even a nifty Adobe AIR application for it (tweetr).
